For blogging basics, we must break it down into the simplest terms. For starters, you are not writing a novel, and you also do not want only a 4 sentence post. A good blog post should be 200 to 500 words and no more. People’s attention spans are short, and the last thing that you want to do is drive away possible traffic that could be clicking one of your ads.

Keep your posts simple and easy to read without the use of flashy grammar that one would expect from the media. Your punctuation does not even need to be perfect. Never use shortened “IM” symbols and words. Some of your readers may not understand them. This includes things like LOL, LMAO, ?, ;), :P :D etc. Never use letters that represent words like l8r (latter), it is only 3 more key strokes, CU 2morow (see you tomorrow), it just makes no sense to drive away traffic because you are too lazy to use the words.

Building a good reputable blog, means you cannot be lazy. You have to work hard at it and as a general rule of thumb you should ad a new post every 6 - 8 hours. Good Luck and Happy blogging.
