How to use a keyword

by va4marketing in January 14th, 2008

I would like to first start off with what exactly a keyword is since there are surprisingly, still people who do not know. Whenever you go to a search engine and type in a word or phrase, this is a keyword.

Now there are two ways for your site to be found with a keyword.

The first to be found with a keyword is if you have that keyword in the title or text of a page. If that keyword is in the title, you have a better chance of appearing higher in the results of that search.

The second way is what’s known in SEO (Search Engine Optimization) as anchor text. This is important as it helps the search engines align a set of keywords with your website’s URL. How this is done is simple. When you leave a comment on another blog, you enter your website URL and a name. If your website is about Martial Arts, then why not use a name like The Martial Artist. This way if someone type in Martial Art in the search engine it will align with your URL.

You need to be careful with this as too many anchor texts may end up burying your website. So from time to time change your keywords so that you can better optimize the fact that some may not always type in you exact keyword. You can easily have several hundred links using one keyword phrase as the anchor text and several hundred more using different variations on keywords and phrases.

Elements of successful website

by va4marketing in January 10th, 2008

To have a successful website there are some important parts that you must always have.

First off, you have to know the purpose of your website. Making money is not a purpose, it is the end means, the purpose is how you get your visitors to that end mean.

What purpose does your website have to your visitors? This is important, because you have to put the visitors first and you pocket last. If the visitors are always first, then you will always meet you end mean of making money.

You had to hold the hand of your visitors. They are not just going to show up and see a buy now link and push it. You have to lead them into purchasing whatever you are selling. Add useful and interesting article on that particular item. Add pictures and descriptions maybe even an online demo. You must do what ever it takes to make your visitors feel like they are a friend to the site. This makes them more prone to buying.

You need a way to capture your visitors. I do not mean a bug that will load your page every time they open their browser. You will never sell anything this way and in some countries if caught you can spend some time in jail for it.

Create a way to get names and email addresses. By doing this you can make a more personal approach. Give them a free e-book on your product or service. People love free stuff and are always willing to give away their emails as long as you are not going to sell them to a “third party.”

Never bulk mail your website’s visitors with anything that could be considered as SPAM. No newsletter neither as they will just get deleted. If you got their email by giving them and e-book, send them an email asking if they enjoyed the book. Make it personal. Remember that you have to put the visitor before your wallet. When you email them and ask them how they liked the book, they may just return and see what they missed, or if the never actually read the e-book, they may return to download it again to see why you contacted them

How to find your profitable niche.

by va4marketing in January 7th, 2008

One of the first and foremost parts of starting any website to make a profit is choosing a niche that you can monetize. One of the first places you should visit is of course Commission Junction, where you can view a full list of advertisers and see what Earnings Per Click (EPC) those advertisers are paying.

You can also visit Overture Bids to see what the biggest bids are currently in the advertising market; this will allow you to find a high paying niche. Lastly, you will want to see what the hot items that people are searching for.

You need to see if your possible choice will have a lot of competition. To do this, simply type in your niche’s keywords into the search engine and see how many result come back. Not all of them will be competition so you can figure this out by simply multiplying the number of found results by .75 (75%) and these will be the amount of competition you will have in that niche. If it is too high, then you need to start back at the beginning.

Use your head. Obviously the electronics and computer markets are highly competitive; where as consumable items are always consumed and replaced.

Finally you will have to guess. Will this niche still be popular in 6 months or is it only hot right now because of a celebrity or television show. Always remember to use your head when making this decision.

by va4marketing in January 6th, 2008

Looking to create a unique business model? Or you think you need to develop a revenue generating site. Here are some useful tips on how to start earning from your website:

1) You do not always have to sell products in order to make money online. You can sell yourself as a service. You may be better at thing you know then you realize, take advantage of these and offer them to you visitors. Optimize your website around your particular service, you would be amazed at what types of online services people will pay for.

2) You can always offer products too. Whether you choose an affiliate, or you make something as a hobby. You can sell that online. You can even hire a programmer or manufacturer in a third world country to make you a product to sell on your website and even have that manufacturer send it directly to your website’s clients.

3) You can use affiliates, but you are limited to a usually small percentage of the profits and sometimes have to wait for $50 to $100 to accrue in your account before you can get paid.

4) You can build small sites to resell at auctions or on sites like SiteSell.

5) Google AdSense. You should have known this would be added to the list of 8 proven ways to make money.

6) The GoogleCash book is filled with ideas to monetize your website.

7) Offer your visitors a newsletter service which you can utilize to make money in several ways. By selling directly in the newsletter, or charging people to join a large newsletter group you started, so they can sell directly.

8) The final Idea is an E-Book. Do not worry if you cannot write anything. You can find writers on the internet for $0.01 per word or less, who will write an E-Book that you can resell to countless people.
